Virginia "Ginny" Lily (McKinley) Baier, 92, of Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure.
Ginny was born in Oak Park, Illinois, to Clyde and Helen Mitchell. In 1954, she married William "Bill" McKinley, and in 1960 the family settled in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, where they raised their four children: Loree (Tom) Herrmann, Conee Kulaga, Beckee (Tom) Breadon, and John (Kelly) McKinley.
Ginny had a true passion for family and friends. She was an avid skier and golfer, a devoted Girl Scout and Cub Scout volunteer, a world traveler, and a fabulous cook who loved gathering her family and friends around the table. As a longtime licensed real estate agent, she helped people find their place in the world with genuine care. Through the years she was a member of civic organizations, more recently the PEO chapter in Tucson. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
In 1982, Ginny married Bruce Baier, sharing 44 wonderful years together. They moved to Oro Valley in 2006, where she enjoyed golf, her exercise group, her RV travel club, and her Afghan Hound Association. Even after a 2020 stroke took her ability to speak, Ginny never lost her spark, meeting her final years with courage and grace.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Bruce Baier; daughters Loree (Tom) Herrmann, Conee Kulaga, and Beckee (Tom) Breadon; son John (Kelly) McKinley; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; her brother Bob (Joni) Mitchell; sister Marge Bruce; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Helen Mitchell; infant brother Roger; sister Kay Frost; infant daughter Sandee McKinley; and grandson Jeffrey Herrmann.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Ginny's name.
