Nadine Krug Rogers
Nadine Krug Rogers, 87, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026.Nadine was born Velma Nadine Krug on November 16, 1938, in Carbon County,Montana, to Alec and Cula Krug. She grew up on the family farm as the oldest of four children, a role that helped shape the hardworking, capable woman she would become. She graduated from Edgar High School in 1956, where she proudly played thet rombone in the school band.On October 3, 1959, she married Ervin Rogers in Billings, Montana, and became the loving stepmother to Erlynne and Walter (Wally) Rogers. Though she did not have children of her own, she was simply “Grandma” to her family in every way that mattered.Nadine worked as a secretary for Northrup King Seed Company before she and Ervin embarked on a decades-long adventure of owning and operating several service stations in Billings from the mid-1960s through the mid-1990s. Many people came to know Nadine and Ervin through those businesses, where her gregarious nature and easy conversation made everyone feel welcome. She was hardworking, easy-going, and truly a friend to all. After selling their businesses in the mid-1990s, Nadine and Ervin moved to White Sulphur Springs, Montana. There, she worked at the Bank of the Rockies while Ervin happily spent his time fishing. Together, they cherished Montana’s wide-open skies and beautiful outdoors. Nadine was no stranger to the outdoors herself, as she was a tough lady who could bait her own hook, something Ervin greatly appreciated. Immediately prior to Ervin’s passing in 2011, Nadine and Ervin moved to the Tucson Estates community in Tucson, Arizona. She quickly built another circle of dear friends and remained as active as ever. She volunteered faithfully with AMVETS and gave countless hours of support to Neighbors Helping Neighbors, which blessed many local families. She loved gathering around a card table for cards and dominoes, sharing stories, and filling a room with her joyous, unmistakably loud laugh. Nadine will be remembered for many things: her cabbage rolls, strawberry-rhubarb jam, and beer bread, her love of entertaining her grandchildren by playing “The Entertainer” on the electric organ, and the countless hours spent chatting on the porch. She was laid back, loved a good story, and had a way of making people feel at ease. Her laughter was generous and contagious, and she never hesitated to share it. In her later years, her grandson Ricky Rogers and his family played an important role in her life, assisting with her home and sharing time and companionship. She is survived by her brother, Melvin Krug of Montana; her children, Erlynne Rogers of West Fargo, North Dakota, and Wally (Kelly) Rogers of Sherwood, Oregon; and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Laura (Brian) Honn and daughter Breana Van Klaveren; Derrick (Jen) Masseth and sons Logan and Wyatt; Don (Jen)Weiker; Roxanne (Jason) Anderson and children Bekah, Ben, and Bethany; Ricky Rogers and children Etta and Otto; and Bob (Mel) Rogers and daughter Sailor. She is also survived by many dear friends, including Linda Holmes and Holly McGovern. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Rogers; her parents, Alec and Cula Krug; and her brothers Bruce Krug and Gary Krug.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 18 th at 1:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in the Tucson Estates community in Tucson, Arizona. A funeral service will be held later this year in White Sulphur Springs, Montana.
Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures,he leads me beside quiet waters,he refreshes my soul.He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake.Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,I will fear no evil, for you are with me;your rod and your staff, they comfort me.You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
