Tari Lee Muir, 75, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, in Tucson surrounded by friends, with her beloved daughter and grandson by her side.

Born in Columbus, Ohio, Tari spent her life embracing adventure and freedom. Over the years, she called many places home, including Florida, Colorado, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Arizona. In her earlier years, she traveled extensively throughout the islands and many countries, collecting stories, experiences, and lifelong memories everywhere she went. She especially loved scuba diving and seeking adventure wherever life took her. She loved sharing stories of her life and travels with others and often dreamed of writing a book one day about the extraordinary life she lived.

Tari especially loved her time in Florida, where she embraced ranch life and being with her horses and cows. It was also where she built many lifelong friendships that remained an important part of her life. She also bred her beloved Golden Retrievers and built a life centered around her love of animals and bringing people together. She enjoyed hosting gatherings and making everyone feel welcomed and included. Tari truly lived life to the fullest and carried her adventurous spirit with her everywhere she went.

Tari was a true hippie girl at heart, filled with magic ,and a free-spirited soul. A devoted Buddhist, she believed deeply in spirituality, meaningful connection, and living with intention and purpose. She built lasting friendships wherever she lived and traveled, creating a wide circle of love and connection throughout her life. She was always drawn to places near the mountains, the beach, and anywhere that offered peace, beauty, and adventure. She also had a lifelong love for chocolate, which brought her simple joy throughout the years.

In her professional life, Tari pursued many ambitious and meaningful career paths throughout her life. Her dedication to education and personal growth was especially impressive, as she returned to her studies later in life with determination and pride. She earned her associate’s degree, followed by her Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), and later her Master’s Degree in Gerontology from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, where she deepened her passion for aging, compassion, and service to others. She went on to found her business, ProAging Solutions, where she believed that aging was “a journey, not a crisis,” and dedicated herself to helping seniors and families navigate aging with dignity and care.

After relocating to Tucson, Arizona, Tari spent her final years close to family and friends, enjoying movie nights, shared meals, and simple everyday moments with her daughter and grandson. She especially cherished their weekly lunches, which became a meaningful routine of connection and joy all the way up until the end.

Tari was preceded in death by her parents, John E. Harper and Nancy A. Harper, her beloved son, Micky Lee Mattox , her former husband, Ricky L. Mattox, and her cherished dog, Sofie Muir, whom she loved and missed dearly.

She is survived by her loving and devoted daughter, Destiny Mattox; her cherished grandson, Parker Mattox of Tucson; and her grandsons, Ethan and Ricky Mattox, who live in Ohio. She is also survived by her adored sisters, Holly Harper and Robin Hastings, as well as her nephew and nieces.

Tari will be remembered for her old soul, warmth, wisdom, adventurous spirit, and unwavering belief in living life authentically. Her love for life and connection will never be forgotten.
