Tara Marie Rodger

Tara Marie Rodgers, lovingly known as “Blue,” was born on February 3, 1963, and peacefully passed away on March 22, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. She was born to Easter and Henry Cox, and throughout her life she embodied strength, warmth, and unwavering love for family and community.
Tara was a devoted mother to seven children: Chametria (Brandon), Tamika, Takiyah, Tyrra, Keanna, Taurean (Vianey), and Tevin. Her love extended across generations as she became a proud grandmother to 21 grandchildren: Teanna, Teandra, Ahmad, Ahmiyah, Tamiyah, Aaliyah, Daiajah, Asia, Nieoni, Ayanna, Tyre, Siearra, Angel, Rhianna, Dai’vion, Tayanna, Damani, Jayden, Amir, Briseis, and Cambrea.
She was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Kamari, Kehloni, Xenia, Ny’year, Legend, Zy’mier,Ky’year, and Divinity, each of whom brought her tremendous joy.
Tara is survived by her siblings: Clara, Wanda (Leon), Trina (Donald), Thomas, Henry L. Cox Jr., and Larry Cox, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and many “extra kids” whom she loved as her own.
She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Cox Sr.; her brother, Johnny Cox; her nephew, Jamelle Thomas; her granddaughter, Angel Nevaeh; her great-grandson, Zy’meir; and her son-in-law, Brandon Hudson.
Tara was a feisty spirit in a small package. She told it like it was unfiltered but always with love. If you knew her, you already knew her door was never closed. You didn’t have to be blood to be family. She had seven children by birth, but in real life it was at least twenty, maybe more. If you came around and needed love or a place, you were hers no questions asked.
The world has truly lost a light, because Blue Sunshine shined so very bright. Her love, laughter, and fearless honesty will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
