Saul Rackauskas was born in Kaunas, Lithuania on May 13, 1942. In 1944, his mother Vlada fled Lithuania with Saul and his twin-brother , Ray, to escape the invading Soviet army. They eventually arrived in Chicago, Illinois in 1950.
Saul earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering at the University of Illinois where he watched fellow Lithuanian-American legend, Dick Butkus, play football for the Fighting Illini team with Ray and their lifelong friends.
He joined his family in Camarillo and lived there until he retired and moved to Tucson in 2007. There he enjoyed philosophical group discussions and laughter with his close-knit friends.
He leaves behind his brother Ray and his nephew Andy
