Ronald E Austin

Ronald E. Austin left us too soon on February 5th, 2026 at the age of 63, in the midst of a life still vibrant. Born in Tacoma, Washington, in 1962, he grew up playing baseball and attended Dash Point and Browns Point Elementary schools and Meeker Junior High. He learned to play golf as a teenager, a sport he continued to love throughout his life. He attended Stadium High School, and upon graduation trained as a welder at Bates Technical College. Ron was drawn to the outdoors and began work in the construction field locally in Tacoma. He honed his skills and eventually found his passion as a carpenter.

Ron moved to Tucson, Arizona in 2000 for a fresh start after many visits that sparked his love of the desert. He began work at a local construction company. Ron met his love, Joy, in 2000 and they were married in 2003. Ron gained two children, Sarah and Ben, through his marriage to Joy. As a family, they moved throughout Tucson and eventually settled in a home purchased in Northwest Tucson. Ron was a member of Randolph Golf League and continued to visit family and work for the carpenter’s union in Washington. Ron was lucky enough to celebrate the weddings of both of his children in the past few years, and even welcomed his first granddaughter in 2025.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Joy Austin, his two stepchildren Sarah and Ben Spencer, and their spouses, Alex and Jacqi, his so very special granddaughter Chloe, his mother, Dawn Austin, his father, Ronald Austin Sr., his brother, Paul Austin, his sister, Elaine McDaneld, his nephew, Austin McDaneld, and his siamese cat Zoe.

Ever the hard working man, Ron had a spirit for adventure and a quiet, benevolent nature that was one of a kind. He will be dearly missed.

Ron’s memorial will be held on February 28th, 2026 at 2pm at Mountain Vista Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Orange Grove Road in Tucson."
