Lynda Dimmett

December 24, 1947 — August 29, 2026

Cover for Lynda Dimmett's Obituary

Lynda Dimmett went to be with our Lord Saturday, August 29th, peacefully at home with her daughter, Chele, by her side.

Lynda was born on Christmas Eve 1947 in Visalia, CA. The youngest of five she moved to Tucson during grade school and lived here ever since. She was a quiet gentle soul graduating from SalPoint High School and attending Pima Community College. She met her late husband, Larry, when he came into her grocery store, where she was a cashier at the time. They married in March of 1971 and were together through Larry's passing in October of 2025.

Lynda was a proud lactation specialist who helped many moms while working for WIC before she retired. She actively engaged in her intense passion for horses and introduced her granddaughter, Abby, to horses at the age of five and was thrilled when it led to a long, distinguished equestrian pursuit. She was a proud grandma!

She was a safe haven for many rescue dogs whom she spoiled rotten. She loved camping, off-roading, watching Nascar with Larry, and collecting all things horses and turtles. She taught us how to love because she loved everyone, especially animals and children. She taught us the importance of hard work because she worked hard all her life.

She will be missed for so many things. Her smile, her support of people and animals in need, her love for all things horses. She had a sweetness about her that was very loving and caring. Her gentle spirit had a way of calming chaos around her. She was a person who knew how to listen with her whole heart. She never complained when things were hard, she just worked a little harder. The world is a little colder without her warmth, but her kindness will live on in every single one of us she touched.

She was the BEST Mom, Grandma, Sister, Daughter, Wife, Aunt, Friend ever.
