It is with immense heartfelt sadness that we announce the death of our beautiful mother:
Louise Anita Cooper October 9, 1938 – January 23, 2026
Mom began her life in a little house in Sicily, Illinois born to Lyle and Raymonda Frazier. She was the second of six children. She attended school in nearby Kincaid, Illinois and graduated from Kincaid High School.
Louise met the love of her life John Harlan Cooper in Kincaid, IL. They were married on June 29th, 1958. Soon after, they had three children – Bridget, Katrina, and Johnny. What a wonderful love story.
Mom had a strong work ethic. In her younger years she was a telephone operator and a waitress at a local tavern named Irene’s. In that Tavern is where she met her soon to be husband John Cooper. Mom 's fulltime job was a Training Specialist/Scheduler for the troops at US Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. This is where after 30 years she retired from Civil Service. Mom's part time job on week nights was a typing and shorthand instructor at the local college in Fayetteville N.C. She and Dad (John) spent over 30- years in Fayetteville together.
Mom volunteered as the PTA President, and was a Troop Leader with the Girl Scouts. Mom was the Cookie Troop Leader and that’s why every spring our garage was filled with 100's of boxes of Girl Scout Cookies.
Louise was a mother. She was a loving, caring, and very generous person. She always made the best Halloween costumes for her children. She was an amazing decorator, and our home always reflected how great she was at decorating, especially during the holidays. Her children knew how much she loved them and how important they were in her life. In time she would add two cherished and loved sons-in-law her computer technician "Mattie Boy" and mover man Richard.
She loved her three granddaughters so very much. She always wanted to be involved in their lives. If her granddaughters needed anything she was there for them. Jessica was her first granddaughter and mom learned how to be a grandmother with Jessie. She had a very special relationship with Page. If you look in Mom's iPhone, Page was her "in case of emergency contact" and Louise was Page's "in case of emergency contact". Mom was always there to help out Cassie when she needed help. She loved these granddaughters with her whole heart and then some more.
Mom enjoyed shopping, cooking, reading and most of all, spending time with her family. Louise loved all her family. Mom was always there when her family needed her whether that be her siblings or her own children. Mom always put her family first. After relocating to Arizona, she looked forward to visiting her siblings and their families in Illinois every year. She had a young family she loved being a part of in Illinois. She loved watching them grow up. They invited her to every family outing, holiday and ball game. That would be Raimee, Josh and the boys. Every one of her siblings held a special place in her heart for a special reason. There are so many stories of love. Mom always talked about how much she loved the ‘siblings’ dinner that was usually held at her brother Al and Madonna’s house Mom cherished those dinners where she got to spend some very special time with her sister- best friend Ellie, her special friend Madonna, the people she referred to as her strong loving protectors’, brothers Al, Bud, Pete, Kenny Chuck and Gary. All the family get- togethers such as the fish fry's, cook outs and spaghetti dinners where the entire family gathered were what Louise loved most in life.
She is preceded in death by John Harlan Cooper (her husband), Lyle & Raymonda Frazier (her parents), and Pete and Bud Frazier (her brothers).
Survived by daughter Bridget & Richard Hitlaw, daughter Katrina Cooper & Matt Bentson, and son John Cooper Il, brother Alfred & Madonna Frazier, sister Ella & Gary Julius, sister-in-law Sheila Frazier, brother Kenny Frazier & Chuck Brunk, grandchildren Jessica Lee Payne, Karoline Page Cooper, and Cassie Cooper, great grandchildren Brianna Payne, Jordon Payne, and Ryan Merz. And so many wonderful nieces and nephews.
"She loved each of you with all her heart ". And she had a huge heart.
Mom, Mama, Weezer, Grams, Page’s Plus One, Sister, Sis, Sissy, Best Friend, Friend, Aunt, Lou and Louie these are the names we use to describe our wonderful Louise Anita Cooper.
We all had a special relationship with her. We all loved her so very much, and we will all miss her so very much.
