Kory Allen Barraza

"It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Kory Barraza, Tucson, Arizona, November 20, 1979 - July 12, 2026. He was a man who faced challenges that many of us will never understand, but his struggles do not define who he was. He was a hardworking man who showed kindness to those around him.

When he was younger, he was at his happiest when we were at the lake where he found pure joy and freedom water skiing, wake boarding and knee boarding with family and friends.

Kory attended the Arizona School for the Deaf where he found his love for sports, such as football, basketball and track. ASDB made a powerful impact on his life, while attending ASDB, he also met Terri Bahe, the mother of his two daughters, Madrianna and Anjelica. After he graduated, he continued to bring his daughters to ASDB to watch games and participate in different events.

If you knew him, he was the kind of person who could figure out anything with his hands. Show him how to build or fix something and he would pick it up easily. He was always doing the hard work around the house while never complaining. Also, his favorite NFL team was the Dallas Cowboys and everyone throughout the house could hear him cheering passionately when they made a touchdown.

But what we will miss most is simply Kory and the warmth he brought into the room. Kory had a great smile and a laugh that could light up any space. He had his struggles but underneath it all was a kind and caring heart. More than anything he loved his two daughters and was so very proud to be their father.

Today is not about remembering a perfect man, it’s about remembering a good man. Kory is survived by his daughters, Madrianna and Anjelica Barraza, his parents, Tom & Cherry Barraza, his sisters, Liza Washburn and Kari Barraza, brother, Darrick Barraza, Terri Bahe and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends. The family will have a private celebration of life in the future.
