Joyce Marie Brown

Joyce M. Brown, 88, of Malone passed away on January 24, 2026, in Tucson Arizona, with her family by her side. Graveside service will be held in the spring at Notre Dame Cemetery, Malone.

Joyce was born on August 18, 1937, in Malone, NY to the late Howard and Marion (Monette) Jeror. She attended Malone Central School and graduated from Franklin Academy in 1955. On June 1, 1957, she married Richard C. Brown at St. John Bosco, Malone. Richard passed away on July 25, 2015. Joyce worked for the law firm of Herron, Lawler, and Fischer (and its various evolutions) for many years until she joined Franklin Correctional, where she retired in 1999.

Joyce’s two loves were her family and reading. She always had a book (or two) with her and was interested in learning about new authors. She was a frequent visitor to the Wead Library, always looking for the newest book from her favorite authors. Joyce was also a devout Catholic and a member of the St. Andre’ Bessette Roman Catholic Parish in Malone.

Joyce is survived by her daughter Susan of Tucson, Arizona, her grandson Kristopher Savage and his wife Emily (Kornmuller), her great grandson Arthur Savage, and her brother Gary Jeror and his wife Belle of Lakeland, Florida. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Paul and Carolyn (Blair) Brown and Ashley (Brown) LaValley who watched over her after Richard’s passing before she moved to Tucson.

She is predeceased by her parents Howard and Marion Jeror, husband Richard, brother Donald Jeror, and sisters Jeannette Bushnell and Marilyn Wells.

A funeral service will be held on March 7 th at St. Thomas the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Tucson.
