John Dallas Wegener

John Wegener-beloved husband, dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend, and neighbor-passed peacefully February 21, 2026 at the age of 81. He was surrounded by the love of his family.

The youngest of five brothers, John was born and raised in Kirkland, WA. It was there in the Pacific Northwest he met and married his wife, Geri, and raised their family. After years as a professional truck driver, he and Geri retired to Vail, AZ in 2007 where he enjoyed life in the desert.

John lived a life of integrity, devoted to his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a hand for anything, big or small. For those that knew him, he probably helped you move or offered a lift to the airport at least once. Although often a man of few words, he never missed an opportunity to deliver his quick wit and humor at just the right moment.

He leaves behind his wife of 56 years, Geri Wegener; son, Adam Wegener, daughter-in-law, Loree, grandkids Lucy and Holden; daughter, Brenda Sierer, son-in-law, Barry, grandkids, Olivia and Michael-Calvin; daughter, Lisa Wegener; brother, Bill Wegener; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association or TMC Peppi’s House Hospice Care.

At John’s request, there will not be a formal ceremony to mark his passing. The best way to honor the person John was is to reach out to a family member or friend, spend time with those you love, or simply extend a kindness to someone in need.

In the end, John’s heart wore out because it could no longer keep up with all the love he had for those in his life. We are all better off for having known him.
