Joe Clinton Jameson, Jr.

October 22, 1948 – January 15, 2026

After two months in hospice care, Joe Clinton Jameson, Jr., age 77, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Peppi’s House in Tucson, Arizona. He was born in Henrietta, Oklahoma, to Joe Clinton Jameson, Sr. and Barbara Pallister.

Joe earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Oklahoma State University and later obtained his master’s degree from Pittsburgh State University. He began his teaching career in California and went on to teach in Oklahoma and Arizona. Over the course of a 42-year career, Joe dedicated himself to educating students in band and general music from kindergarten through twelfth grade. He retired from Tucson Unified School District in 2012, having touched countless lives through his love of music and teaching.

Joe was a member of Christ Church United Methodist and loved his faith and church family. One of his greatest joys in earlier years was walking outside in parks and enjoying God’s creations. After he was unable to walk, he enjoyed looking at cloud formations and seeing rainbows.

Joe is survived by his wife of 37 years, Paula; his children, Michael Bush (Jacqueline), Kimberly Smith (Martin), and Joe Clinton Jameson III (Marcela); his grandsons, Jacob Smith and Luke Smith; his brother, Michael Jameson; and his former wife, Sandra Lewis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Richard Jameson.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 7, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Church United Methodist, 655 N. Craycroft, Tucson, Arizona. A reception will follow. Memorial donations may be made to the Christ Church United Methodist Memorial Fund.
