In Loving Memory of Jerry Michael Ghent November 19, 1950 – July 7, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Jerry Michael Ghent, who entered into the presence of the Lord on July 7, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on November 19, 1950, in Vallejo, California, Jerry lived a life centered on family, laughter, and love. He was the kind of man who could make anyone smile, always finding the humor in life's moments. Whether it was one of his famous dad jokes, a playful tease, or simply his contagious laugh, Jerry had a special gift for bringing joy to those around him.

Jerry spent more than 20 years as a truck driver for Colombo and was a proud Teamsters member, where he earned the respect of his coworkers through his dedication, dependability, and strong work ethic. While he worked hard to provide for his family, his greatest joy was always found at home, surrounded by the people he loved most.

Jerry shared a beautiful life with his beloved wife, Mary, creating a lifetime of memories filled with love, adventure, and laughter. Together they enjoyed countless trips to Disneyland, one of Jerry's favorite places, where he was just as excited as the grandchildren. He also loved spending time on the golf course, cheering on his favorite teams, and making memories with his family.

A lifelong and devoted San Francisco 49ers fan, Jerry was equally passionate about baseball. He proudly rooted for the Oakland A's for many years, and after moving to Tucson, Arizona, in 2005, he embraced the Arizona Diamondbacks as his hometown team—much to the dismay of his oldest son, Jason. Their friendly baseball rivalry became one of the many treasured family memories that will live on for years to come.

Jerry leaves behind the love of his life, Mary Ghent; his children, Jason Ghent, Jeremy Ghent, Laura Dubois, Michael Moore, Del Moore, and Patricia Arnhart; 10 cherished grandchildren; 2 precious great-grandchildren; and his sister, Jeri Rahill.

He was welcomed into Heaven by his parents, John and Margaret Ghent and his siblings, Jim, Joe, John, Juanita, Jeanette, and Jeff.

Jerry's family finds peace knowing he is now home with the Lord, reunited with those who went before him.

The world feels a little quieter without Jerry's laughter, his stories, his hugs, and his unforgettable dad jokes. Although our hearts are broken, we are forever grateful for the years we shared with him and the countless memories he gave us. His love, kindness, and joyful spirit will continue to live on in each of us.

We will miss him every day, love him always, and carry him in our hearts until we meet again.
