Isabel Marquez Sproule died peacefully in her sleep in Tucson, Arizona on May 31, 2026, at the grand age of 98 years. Isabel was born on May 16, 1928 in the small mining town of El Tigre, Sonora, Mexico. She met the love of her life, James Francis Sproule, Jr., in Agua Prieta, Sonora and they married in 1953 after a whirlwind two-month romance. She was a devoted mother to four children, who remember her constant and comforting presence in their lives. 

Isabel had a beautiful singing voice and loved to perform with her sisters. She loved reading, listening to classical music, cooking, sunflowers, tequila and time surrounded by family. She was a fierce believer in Jehovah and Jesus Christ and was loyal to her faith as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents, Jose Marquez and Maria Tirrado Osuna de Ramos, who raised her along with three sisters Yolanda, Olga, and Locha, and a dear cousin Juanita. She is survived by her children Johann (Mabel), Mary Angela (David), Karl (Ameena), and Mona, seventeen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and one greatgreat grandchild. 

A memorial service officiated by Hector Quiroz will be held on June 20 at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 2277 N Washington Ave in Douglas. Following the service, family and friends will gather at the American Legion at 1325 G Avenue. Those unable to attend in person may join via Zoom (ID: 213-677-5705; Passcode: 752396).
