Heidemarie Friederike Hughes

Heidemarie Friederike “Heidi” Hughes, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at the age of 78. She was born on April 16, 1947, in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria, Germany

. Heidi was the devoted wife of Sammie Hughes, She was reunited in heaven with her husband, who passed away on May 8, 2015. Together they built a life rooted in love, family, and commitment, sharing many happy years in Tucson, Arizona, where they lived in the Catalina area for 55 years.

 She was a loving mother to Sonja Hughes, Marcus Hughes, and Michael Hughes. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. 

Heidi’s legacy continues through her grandchildren: Nathan Gardner, Dustin Gardner spouse Sarah Gardner, Samuel Hughes spouse Aubriana Hughes, Caitlin Hughes-Gonzales spouse Macario Gonzales, Angela Hughes, and Amber McKenny. She was also a proud great-grandmother to Rylynn Gardner, Lennix Gardner, Alyus Gonzales, Maya Gonzales, Lennox Gonzales, Mionna Gonzales, and Shayla McKenny. 

Heidi will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and deep love for her family. She touched the lives of those around her with kindness and will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved her.
