Gary LaVaughn Wilson Profile Photo

Gary LaVaughn Wilson, originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, moved to Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 20. He made Tucson his home for more than five decades, sharing his life with his beloved wife, Holly Wilson, who preceded him in death in 1994.

Gary had a natural talent for working with his hands and built a career as a skilled carpenter. He was especially known for transforming discarded wood and fallen trees into beautiful, handcrafted furniture. Over the years, he also worked in the fishing and restaurant industries.

He found great joy in nature and had a passion for collecting art, which he proudly displayed throughout his home. Those who knew Gary will remember him for his warm sense of humor, generous spirit, and kind heart. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and freely shared whatever he had with others.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Gary’s neighbors and friends—especially Amanda and Connie—for their compassionate care during his illness.
