Fernando D. Perez Jr. (Fernie) beloved husband, father, stepfather, tata, brother, uncle, brother-in-law, cousin, godfather, and friend went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 18, 2026 after a brief battle with Multiple Myeloma. He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Fernando D. Perez and Frances M. Perez; dear sister, Rosemary P. Trigloff, and grandparents, Felix and Carmen Perez and Leonzo and Francisca Martinez.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Rosa A. Perez; cherished daughter and son-in-law, Monique Perez Luna & Jake Luna and stepchildren, Rose Esther (Jorge), Esteban, Gabriel, and Helene. He was blessed with nine beautiful grandchildren, Laila, Steven, Brianna, Randy, Erica, Wendy, Jorge, Lidz, and Julian, and six great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his dear brother, Christopher Perez; loving niece and nephew, Julie Trigloff and Eddie Trigloff (Vera), as well as many fond cousins and lifelong friends.
A native Tucsonan, Fernie attended St. Ambrose Catholic School, Mansfeld Middle School, and Tucson High School (a proud graduate of the Class of 1967). He attended Mesa Community College and went on to enlist in the United States Air Force (1968-1972) serving in Vietnam (1969-1970). He returned to Tucson where he attended Pima Community College. He worked for Southern Pacific Railroad, Santa Fe Pacific Pipeline, and retired from Kinder Morgan Energy as a Senior Pipeliner.
A lover of fedoras, classic cars and trucks, Raiders football, Tejano and oldies, a great steak, good cheeseburger, and a beautiful sunset, Fernie always lived life to the fullest. We will deeply miss his physical presence, words of wisdom, and sense of humor. His memory will live on forever in our hearts.
Our family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation and thanks to the Tucson VA Medical Center Team for their exceptional care and compassion during Fernie’s cancer diagnosis, treatment, and last days on earth.
