In Loving Memory of Ernie Castillo
With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Ernie Castillo, who left this world far too soon at the age of 19.
Ernie was a cherished son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Although his life was tragically cut short, the love he shared and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
At just 19 years old, Ernie was still discovering his path in life. He had dreams yet to chase, adventures yet to experience, and so much life ahead of him. He had big, bright brown eyes that seemed to shine with flecks of gold whenever he smiled, a smile that could light up any room. His warm spirit, kind heart, and genuine nature brought comfort, laughter, and joy to everyone around him. Whether he was spending time with family or friends, Ernie had a remarkable way of making people feel seen, valued, and loved.
One of Ernie's greatest joys was his loyal dog, Dude. The bond they shared was something truly special. Dude was more than a pet; he was Ernie's constant companion, best friend, and source of comfort. Whether they were relaxing together or simply enjoying each other's company, the love between them was unmistakable. Anyone who knew Ernie knew how deeply he adored Dude, and that faithful friendship reflected Ernie's own loving, loyal, and compassionate heart.
Ernie's greatest gift was simply being himself. He will be remembered for his gentle spirit, infectious laughter, unwavering kindness, and the love he gave so freely. His passing has left an unimaginable void, especially in the hearts of his mother, siblings, grandmother, extended family, and countless friends who loved him beyond measure.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that the memories we shared with Ernie will never fade. His life, though far too brief, touched more lives than he could have ever imagined. His love, laughter, and beautiful soul will continue to inspire compassion, kindness, and togetherness in those who carry his memory forward.
Ernie is survived by his loving mother, Stephanie; his siblings, Cody, Alexa, and Jessica; his grandmother, Valerie; his extended family; his beloved dog, Dude; and many dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ernie's life on Friday, July 24, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. Together, we will honor the remarkable young man he was and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Although we were not ready to say goodbye, we are forever grateful for the 19 precious years we were blessed to share with Ernie. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
"Those we love don't go away. They walk beside us every day, unseen, unheard, but never forgotten"
