David Earl Watson, born on September 27, 1951, in Black River Falls, Wisconsin, passed away on May 5, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. He was 74 years old.
David was the son of Norman and Phyllis Watson, who predeceased him. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Thomas Watson. He is survived by his sister, Joan Watson (Katie Ray), as well as his cousins Kathy Steiber, Barb Kratz, Nancy Filkins, Bobby Scheel, and Beth Ann Scheel.
David’s greatest passion in life was the piano. A gifted musician from an early age, he began performing at just 13 years old. His talent and dedication led him to compete in the prestigious Van Cliburn Competition 2001, held in Fort Worth, Texas. David continued to perform and study piano throughout his life, leaving behind a legacy of music that will be cherished by those who knew him.
David’s passing on Cinco de Mayo feels fitting for someone who appreciated a good celebration. He is now part of the energy of the universe — a place where everything is amazing and beautiful.
May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
