Dai Hyoun “Dan” Park was born in Korea to Dong Yup Park and Ok Soon Choi in 1932 and then grew up in a family with many siblings. He studied radiology in Seoul and was awarded his medical degree at the newly created Yonsei University. Dan moved to the USA in late 1958, and he married Hyung Ja “Jane” Choi in St. Paul, MN in 1959. After internship there, then residency in Chicago, he and Jane moved to Pierre, South Dakota with children: David, Esther, and Peter, where he became a radiologist at St. Mary’s Hospital which also served other small hospitals in the region for over four decades. In 1974 Dan & Jane applied, diligently studied US civics, passed the exam to be naturalized as US citizens, and later celebrated the USA Bi-Centennial as Americans! In 1999, he retired to Milwaukee, WI, then later moved Aurora, CO. They enjoyed many winter golf visits to Arizona and eventually moved there. They made many wonderful friends everywhere they lived. Dan is survived by his wife, Jane; children Dave, Esther (Sung), Peter (Kristin); grandchildren Peter, JooMee, Jonny, and Tim (Jennifer); sisters, Eun Wha (Park) Kim, Jung Wha (Park) Kim, and Sinwha (Park) Shin; brothers, Dai Yang and Dai Kwan, and many nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces. Preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sue Wha (Park) Lee (Sung Ki), Sul Wha (Park) Lee (Dong Han), Won Hwa Park; and brother, Rev. Dai Woong Park.
