We lost our loving mother, grandmother and wife Catherine Glick on March 9th 2026.
She was an active and creative spirit with a love for nature, spirituality, science, family and friends. Her relentless positive energy animated our home and any place she passed through. She maintained a strong independent streak and a warmth and openness to people from any walk of life.
(Born in eastern Pennsylvania, the granddaughter of a coal miner, Catherine grew up and attended school in the Hudson Valley of New York State. She attended and graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo and began her career as a high school teacher, committed to special education and science.)
She will be missed by friends in the Washington, DC area where she lived for many years and worked as a teacher and tutor. In her career, she helped many special education students thrive in the field of science.
She also maintained a special connection to Vermont, residing there at two different times and visiting in between. Catherine expressed her love of hiking, gardening and design most fully in Vermont and will be missed by friends there as well.
In Arizona, Catherine continued to form meaningful relationships with new people and new landscapes. In later years, she charmed caregivers and residents at The Gardens with her continued positivity and energy. We will miss her tremendously.
A Celebration of Cathy’s Life will be held on a future date.
