It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Alma Ruth (Clark) Williams on the morning of February 6, 2026. She was surrounded by love and free from pain at the end.

Alma lived a life marked by quiet strength, perseverance, her faith, and care for her family and friends.

Alma Ruth Clark was born on September 2, 1949 in Waterbury, CT to her loving parents, Gould B. and Ruth L. (Moody) Clark. Her sister was Katharine L. Barron, of Presque Isle, ME. Alma attended Paul M Hodgson High School in Newark, DE and graduated from Covenant College in Lookout Mountain, GA in 1971 with a degree in Psychology. She then enrolled in the US Army and served as a medical technician at the Basic Medical Laboratory School at Fort Sam Houston, TX, where she met her husband, Richard in 1973. They were assigned as lab partners and have been inseparable ever since. She then served at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed in Washington DC.

She and Richard married in 1974. Alma left the Army and she and Richard had 6 children over the course of 10 years. Their family travelled throughout the Southwestern states; selling books and various items in many communities, of New Mexico, Arizona and California. In 1987, Alma and her family settled in Tucson, Arizona. Alma worked at the University of Arizona in the College of Agriculture as an Administrative Coordinator for 16 years before retiring in 2016.

Alma was kind, devoted and well loved. She enjoyed knitting, word games, puzzles, playing Sudoku, being in the pool and walking in nature. She is survived by Richard Williams, her husband of almost 52 years, her six children, Jamie Williams, Evie Becher, Alesha Rupp, Calvin Clark Williams, Augie Williams and Justin Williams, as well as seven grandchildren and many beloved family members and friends whose lives she touched.

A private family gathering will be held in her honor on March 15th. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
